Cosplay

Cosplay)

(Dick Thomas Johnson from Tokyo, Japan, CC BY 2.0 via Wikimedia Commons)

 → Zoom

Cosplay

All right, now, this is something I know many people been looking forward to all year—the results of our annual, beloved tradition, the Halloween Candy YouTube Challenge. This is the ninth time we’ve done it. Many…I’m told that many of the disappointed kids—from the first time we did in 2011—have now blossomed to become fully-grown disappointed adults. And that’s… And I want to say something to those out there who think I do this because I enjoying being mean to kids. That is not—I love kids.

Not only do I love kids, I have written and illustrated a children’s book called The Serious Goose. Now, this is not a joke. It comes out December 3. It’s available for preorder now. And all the money I make from it goes to children’s hospitals here in LA and around the United States. So, please. So, buy this. It looks like this, The Serious Goose. And remember that, for the next five minutes, as we endure the tears of disappointed children in this year’s edition of Hey Jimmy Kimmel—I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy.

We ate all of your Halloween candy. I’m sorry. Is it okay?

No! Not at all!

And guess what?

Guess what?

We’re just joking.

That’s the worst Halloween I ever had because of you dumb, stupid mans!

Mama was just too hungry.

I ate all your candy.

I’m gonna call the police.

Why? We hate you! We don’t want to live with you anymore!

Oh! Oh…my God!

Why you ate it again?

I ate it all.

Why?

I ate it all because I was hungry.

I’m joking. I’m joking.

What did you do with my candy right there?

I don’t even know what you’re saying.

Mommy and Daddy ate all of your Halloween candy. Is that okay?

We ate all of your candy. Will you forgive me?

Yes, but don’t do it again. It will make you very sick. You will have to poop all that out!

I’m telling on you, really.

It’s not fair!

Julianna!
Julianna!

That’s so rude of you. Tomorrow I’m going to eat your stuff! For real. And I’m not getting you no goodies. Just boppy. That’s so rude of you.

But I was so hungry.

Well, you got…well, you got eat some vegetables, not candy!

Darn it!

Go! Now! Go! Eat some vegetables! See? You make her upset! Say sorry!

Last night, I got hungry, and I ate all of your Halloween candy.

Oh!
喔!

You’re happy that your candy is not gone?

A little bit. But I love you more than candy.

Aw.
噢。

Can I have my bucket?

You just want the empty bucket?

Oh.
噢。

You don’t eat people’s candy!

Okay. I’m really, really sorry.

You just make me mad. You made me really mad, Mommy.

I said I’m sorry.

It’s okay.

Okay, well, thank you. I love you.

I love you, too.

Mackenzie, Jimmy Kimmel told me to do it.
Mackenzie,Jimmy Kimmel

No, thank you.

Jimmy Kimmel told me to trick you.
Jimmy Kimmel

Who’s that?

It’s Jimmy Pickle.
討厭鬼 Jimmy。

Don’t get mad at Mom. It’s just Jimmy Pickle. That’s his fault.

If I ever seen Jim…um, Jimmy Kimmel, I would punch him in the face.

Why?

He deserves it.

What if I do it again tonight?

I’m going to punch him in the wiener.

You ruined my candy.

You have a mouth full of candy right now, and you’re crying about more candy.

I’m gonna keep that—

Stop, wait. Chew what’s in your mouth. They don’t understand you. And now what?

I ate all of it. It’s all gone.

It’s all gone. He ate it all.

How’s that make you feel?

F**k it!
* 你的!

He said “chocolate," “chocolate," okay? All right. Well, sorry, kids. And thanks to all the parents who participated, especially those who recorded their videos horizontally. We really appreciate it here on television.

Halloween Stories for Children

[youtubelearn video_code="F-TR35esdMA" srt_name="halloween2019" player_length=""]

Haven’t heard stories from me in a while, right? So, let me tell you the story of Halloween today. It’s going to be spooky! Zoom in!

Halloween was started by the Celts, who lived two thousand years ago in an area which is now known as Ireland. The Celts celebrated their New Year on the first of November, the day which marked the end of summer and the beginning of the dark, cold winter. They believed that the night before the New Year, the ghost would come to the world of living, and the boundaries between the two worlds would blur.

Hence, to protect themselves, they celebrated the festival of Samhain on the 31st of October, modernly known as Halloween. They would wear costumes and light bonfires to ward off ghosts. The word Halloween means “hallowed evening" or “holy evening"—holy because the Celtic priests would often make predictions about the future for the long and dark times that lay ahead. See? That’s how Halloween started.

Hey, Dr. Binocs! Why don’t you tell them about us? The famous jack-o’-lanterns!

Because we are the original jack-o’-lanterns, you pump-head!

Wait! Let me tell them about the both of you.

So, the Celtics often carved faces on turnips or potatoes to light the way to their homes for the good spirits to enter. Later, when the Irish immigrants entered America, they discovered the pumpkin to be the new face of Halloween!

How dare you? I’m the famous one!

But I am the original one.

Don’t you dare steal my thunder! Why are you even here, I wonder? Leave me! That’s not your place!

Oh! Let me get them settled. But guys, see me next time for more fun facts! This is me zooming out!

Hey, guys! Wait, wait, chill!

Terrible English Idioms

Terrible English Idioms

[youtubelearn video_code="WxgMRjL8kQk" srt_name="terribleidioms" player_length=""]

Come learn with us. Come learn with us, students. Forever and ever and ever.

Five Terrifying Idioms

Hello. Today we’re going to do five terrifying idioms.

The first terrifying idiom is “to have goosebumps" or “something gives you goosebumps."
第一個可怕的片語是「to have goosebumps(起雞皮疙瘩)」或「something gives you goosebumps(某事情讓你起雞皮疙瘩)」。

Geese are cute. I thought this was supposed to be a terrifying Halloween lesson.

When you get goosebumps, it’s the same feeling as when you get cold. Little hairs stand on end, but it’s not because you’re cold—it’s because you feel fear or if you hear a nice song.

You know what gives me goosebumps?

What?

Haunted houses, hearing noises in the dark, being alone in a cemetery. What gives you goosebumps?

Enya. Her voice is heavenly.

Our second terrifying idiom is “to have butterflies in your tummy or stomach."
我們第二個可怕的片語是「to have butterflies in your tummy or stomach(感到很緊張)」。

Butterflies aren’t scary, either.

When you have that nervous feeling in your tummy like little, scary butteries are flying inside you—you have butterflies. For example, I saw a pretty girl. I love her. When she talks to me, I get butterflies.

This is a Halloween lesson. Please try and be more dark and sinister.

What gives you butterflies?

Nothing. I’m dead inside. I have no emotions.

Our third awful idiom is “to be in high spirits."
第三個可怕的片語是「to be in high spirits(興高采烈)」。

Oh my God, that means “to be happy."

Yes. Terribly happy. We usually say this when you’re in a visibly good mood or perhaps you have more energy than usual.

This isn’t scary.

For example, “His motivational speeches put everyone in high spirits." What puts you in high spirits?

Death.

The next idiom is “to get the heebie-jeebies/the willies," or “something creeps me out."
接下來的片語是「to get the heebie-jeebies/the willies(很害怕)」,或是「something creeps me out(某事嚇壞我了)」。

That’s a bit better.

When you feel uncomfortable or when your skin goes “ugh," you can say “It gives me the willies or the heebie-jeebies" or “This creeps me out."

This is better. I like this one. “I often get the heebie-jeebies when I walk alone in the dark."

You’re never alone. I’m always watching you.

That’s creepy.

Our final idiom is “to have a stab at something."
我們最後一個片語是「to have a stab at something(嘗試做某事)」。

Okay, good. Finally.

When you attempt something that you’ve never tried before, you have a stab at it.

All right. Calm down.
好的。

“Would you like to have a stab at giving us an example?"

Sure. I’ve never learned Chinese. I’m dying to learn.

Well, you’re very clever. “You should have a stab at it!" You could make this more interesting with “a stab in the dark." This means when you guess something and you’re really not sure if you’re right, or if you try something which has very little chance of actually working.
你可以把這個片語變得有趣一點,可以說「a stab in the dark(瞎猜)」。

What’s the time?

“I’m going to have a stab in the dark and say 5:30."

“It was just a stab in the dark when I tried to park the car." I can’t drive.

Did you run anyone over?

Yes.
有。

Good.

Thank you for watching. Now watch our other video.

Uh-huh.

Mommy and Daddy got really hungry last night, and we ate all your candy.

It’s all gone.

I’m not mad at all.

Okay.
好。

I will never be mad at you because you’re my mom.

You’re too sweet. It’s gross.

I hate you, Mommy!

Did you say you hate your mommy?

Yes! You ate all my candy! No one’s coming in!

Oh, Cameron.
喔,Cameron。

Unless they have all my candy!

I ate all your Halloween candy.

I’m very disappointed in you, Mommy.

I’m sorry. I love you.

I love you, too, but I’m very disappointed.

We can still have M&M’s.

I ate all the M&M’s.

That’s sad.

I wanted to eat the other Starburst.

You wanted to eat the other Starburst? I know. I’m sorry.

You like Jimmy Kimmel?

No.

Oh, you don’t?

No.

Okay.

Jimmy Kimmel told me to ate all your candy.
Jimmy Kimmel

He’s an idiot. He’s a freaking idiot!

Guess what, we have some broccoli in the fridge. Do you want broccoli?

I don’t want that!

You want carrots?

No!
不想!

Did you know I ate all your candy?

Nope.

Yeah, I did.

I forgive you, Mommy.

You do?

I love you.

Aw, thank you!

You still love me if I eat it all?

Yeah.

Aw, I love you, too.

I’m telling you candy is not that special.

Do you still love me?

Well, not anymore, because you ate all my candy.

Go to your room! Go to your room!

Why?

Designed by Kjpargeter

trick-or-treat

Trick-or-treat. Give me something good to eat.
Trick or treat, smell my feet(不給糖就搗蛋,聞聞我的臭腳丫)
Give me something good to eat(快給我一些好吃的)
If you don’t(如果你不給我吃的)
I don’t care(我也不在乎)
I’ll pull down your underwear(我就把你的內褲拉下來)

be dressed up as…

A: What are you dressed up as?(你扮成什麼?)
B: I’m Edward from the movie, Edward Scissorhands.(我是電影《剪刀手愛德華》裡面的愛德華啊。)

pumpkin carving

bobbing for apples

haunted hayride

haunted houses / haunted trails

Hi, I’m Brogan with Magic Kingdom’s food and beverage team, here to give you an inside look at all the sweet treats offered at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This fun-filled family event is all about character meeting, trick-or-treating, and most importantly, dessert eating. Our team of pastry chefs have created over a dozen specialty desserts, some exclusive just for the party. Not only are these desserts scary good, they’re very instagramable.

One of our guests’ favorite desserts this year is the Jack Skellington Push Pop. This is layered with vanilla panna cotta, chocolate cake, and crispy chocolate curls, and topped with Jack Skellington himself—definitely fit for the Pumpkin King.

Speaking of pumpkin, there’s no better way to celebrate the fall season than with pumpkin-flavored desserts. We have a Pumpkin Cheesecake Dome, Mickey Pumpkin Waffles, and you can even grab a scoop of Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream over on Main Street.

Now, this next dessert is themed after one of our most popular attractions, the Haunted Mansion. All four of these desserts are topped with chocolate pieces with iconic images from the attraction. What’s really cool about these is they’re all four different flavors, and you can try your favorite, like chocolate peanut butter, or you can collect them all.

Now, these are just a few of our desserts featured at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, like the classic Worms and Dirt, or you can try a Mickey Cupcake filled with purple marshmallow fluff. But the best way to try it all is to come visit us at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Hope to see you here!

Now, I know what you really came for: taking Halloween candy away from children. Well, this is our sixth year of doing this. And for the first time in those six years, I have a trick-or-treater living in my house. My daughter turned two in July. We dressed her as a monkey last night, and we went around the block. She was very excited about the candy, even though she doesn’t know the difference between lollipops and popsicles—we had to explain that. But she was—Jane was very happy last night. She woke up this morning in a snippy mood, and she also is at the age where she says no to everything. So I decided this was the perfect time to tell her I ate all her Halloween candy. Wait a minute. Your reaction confuses me, but here’s how that went.

Hey, Jane. You’re already in a bad mood?

Umm…no.

It’s about to get worse.

It’s not.

Hey, Jane.
嘿,Jane。

No.
不要。

Do you remember when we went trick-or-treating last night?

Yeah.

That was fun, right?

Yeah.
對。

Do you remember all the candy we got?

Yeah.
記得。

Well, Daddy ate all of it.

No.

Yeah, look.

He didn’t.

Yeah, he did.

Nah.
沒。

I ate all your Halloween candy.

No.

Yeah.
有。

It has dirt in that.

It has dirt in that?

Yeah.

Yeah, there’s a little bit of dirt in there. But Jane, you’re missing the point.

No.

It’s not about the dirt.

There is.

Jane.
Jane。

There is.

Your father ate all your Halloween candy.

No.

Yeah.
有。

No.
不。

And it was delicious.

No, it’s not.

Were you dressed as a monkey last night?

No.

You weren’t?

I’m not.

You were. Yeah.

Are you gonna contradict everything I say?

No.
不要。

You’re not?

I wanna…I want go get pancakes.

All right, pancakes, those I can get you.

You want pancakes. All right. I’ll try again later.

Creating Puking Pumpkins

[youtubelearn video_code="dCqs2SPGEOo" srt_name="pukingpumpkins" player_length=""]

Hey, guys! Jack Griffo here from The Thundermans. And I’m gonna help you hallo-win Halloween in the most awesomely gross way. Now, you know Halloween is all about pumpkins, but I’m gonna show you how to turn ordinary pumpkins into puking pumpkins. That’s right. I said “puking."

First up, the traditional puking pumpkin. Here’s what you need: a pumpkin, carving tools, a plastic tray, and your parents.

Not now, Mom! I’m a little busy! Moms.

Step one: Get your parents’ help and carve a scary face into your pumpkin. Make sure its mouth is nice and wide…like his. Step two: Scoop out all the seeds and goop and stuff, and put them to the side. Don’t throw them away, though. It’s the secret ingredient. Step three: Place your pumpkin on the plastic tray. Step four: Take all the goopy guts you just took out of your pumpkin; put them in front of its mouth. And don’t forget the seeds for extra grossness. Oh, yeah! That’s good! There you go! Your pumpkin is now puking. You’re welcome.

Now, that’s not the only way to put some upchuck into your pumpkin. You can also turn it into a serving tray for gross-out guacamole. Just swap out pumpkin guts for guac. Muy delicioso!

And if you really wanna make things interesting, let’s add some color. You’ll need a carved pumpkin, four tablespoons of baking soda, food coloring, and vinegar. Step one: Take your pumpkin and put four tablespoons of baking soda inside. One, two, three, and…four. Step two: Add a few drops of food coloring. Step three: Pour in a couple drops of vinegar. Here we go, guys. This is it. And watch your pumpkin ooze away!

And there you have it—three delightfully disgusting puking pumpkins. It’s a beautiful thing. Happy Halloween!

I was just joking, okay?
Well, still shut up and go to the other room. Excuse me?

I told you not to. I told you. You can never ever, ever listen about candy.

Are you mad at me?

The whole entire bag?
Yeah…I’m sorry.
It’s okay. It’s fine.
It’s fine? Like, there’s none left.
It…it’s fine. It’s fine.
Oh…thank you.

Kids, I got something to tell you.
